The New York State Assembly/Senate Puerto Rican and Hispanic Task Force has canceled its winter conference to focus on Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.
The conference was to have taken place in San Juan at the beginning of this month, according to a statement from Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, the task force chairman.
The task force will instead schedule a conference in New York City to address the hurricane’s devastation and assist with rebuilding New York City’s coastal communities and other areas of the state that experienced major damage, he said.
