ROCHESTER — The Rochester City School District has adopted a $681 million budget for the 2011-12 school year.
The spending plan restores $7 million originally intended to be cut by Superintendent Jean-Claude Brizard’s budget proposal, according to district officials. The school board approved the budget by a 4-3 vote on May 6.
The board restored $7 million through an increase in state aid, additional money from the contingency fund, elimination of Monroe Community College’s Gateway to College program and a decrease in allocation to the Hillside Work-Scholarship program.
