Rowing regatta to be held July 30

ROCHESTER — The first U.S. Rowing Diversity Invitational Regatta will be held on the Genesee River this month.

Through the efforts of Cross Currents Minority Rowing, the local group that seeks to reverse the underrepresentation of minorities in the sport of rowing, the regatta will take place at the Genesee Waterways Center on Elmwood Avenue on July 30.

Cross Currents is one of 1,100 member organizations that constitute U.S. Rowing and is part of its diversity initiative called America Rows.
