Last month, the Rochester Hispanic Business Association announced that Orlando Ortiz would be this year’s Hispanic Business Person of the Year.
Ortiz is a manufacturing manager at The Gleason Works in Rochester, as well as the president of the Puerto Rican Festival Committee.
According to information from the RHBA, Oritz was selected for the award because of his demonstrated interest in enhancing the local community and for having made positive contributions as an economic development and business leader.
The Hispanic Business Person of the Year award has been given out annually since 1990 and recognizes individuals who not only positively influence the Hispanic community in the greater Rochester area, but who also serve as positive role models.
Oritz will be honored during an RHBA luncheon at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center Sept. 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For tickets or more information, visit https://bit.ly/2Z7ABI7.
