New Ibero program serves East High students

ROCHESTER — A new Family Service Assistance program, which will be offered by Ibero-American Action League, will begin serving students at East High School this month.

The program will provide prevention, intervention and mentoring programs to students ages 12 to 18 and their families with a focus on teen health, education, youth employment development and family service assistance.

Four bilingual assistants will serve families in the program and strive to improve attendance, reduce tardiness and discipline incidents, and increase parent participation. They also will connect families to community resources as needed.
