ROCHESTER — The Cathedral Community opened a food pantry last month in the former Sacred Heart convent.
Joseph’s Place, 287 Flower City Park, will open from 5 to 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month and from 1 to 3 p.m. the fourth Wednesday, according to information from the community’s social-ministry office.
The pantry will serve residents of the Maplewood and Edgerton neighborhoods, who must show proof of residence to receive nonperishable food and paper products once a month.
More than 40 volunteers will assist with food collection and distribution, according to Marcus Ebenhoe, social ministry coordinator for the Cathedral Community.
