A 17-year-old Bishop Kearney High School student has been named Miss Puerto Rico of Rochester.
Zoe Ferraro was crowned during the annual pageant held June 14 at St. John Fisher College, according to information from Juana Vega, the pageant coordinator. Deniliz Troche, 17, who attends Wilson Magnet High School, was named princess. Both of them will ride atop the Puerto Rican Festival float at the parade to be held Aug. 22. They will also make appearances during the 46th annual Puerto Rican Festival on Aug. 21-23.
Six contestants competed for the title during the pageant, which included interviews and a talent portion, in front of an audience of 200 people, Vega said.
