ROCHESTER — La Cumbre members are developing a Latino artist directory to help local Latino arts and cultural organizations reach new audiences.
The ad hoc Latino advocacy group chose the directory project as one of its action items during a spring renewal event in April. La Cumbre has four key focus areas: economic development, government representation, education, and arts and culture.
Throughout the year, local schools, museums and organizations often make requests for lists of Latino artists, musicians and performers, especially leading up to and during Hispanic Heritage Month, according to information from La Cumbre’s arts and culture committee. La Cumbre would in turn connect those groups to the artists and performers listed in the directory.
