Ibero head nominated to serve on state board

ALBANY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has nominated Hilda Rosario Escher, Ibero-American Action League’s president and CEO, to serve on the Board of the Urban Development Corp.

Rosario Escher was one of six people nominated Jan. 12 for appointments that will require New York Senate confirmation. In 2012, state Senate named her a Woman of Distinction.

"New perspectives are crucial to furthering the progress our State has made over the past four years," Cuomo stated in a press release. "The talented men and women who are joining this team represent the best of their fields, and they bring with them the fresh ideas and drive we need to continue improving the lives of all New Yorkers."
