Healing retreat to focus on struggling families

ROCHESTER — An internationally known preacher and author will lead a spiritual retreat for Catholics in November.

Saulo Hidalgo, a native of the Dominican Republic, is the creator of the evangelization ministry, "Levanta y Anda," (Get Up and Go), and his retreats focus on healing. He was part of the Catholic Charismatic Convention that was presented in Rochester two years ago for Hispanics from throughout New York and Canada.

The retreat, which is scheduled for Nov. 6-7 at the Bishop Hickey Conference Center in the Diocese of Rochester’s Pastoral Center at 1150 Buffalo Road in Gates, is cosponsored by the Rochester Diocese, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the Spanish Apostolate.

During a Sept. 22 interview, Hidalgo said this retreat will be geared toward families in need of healing and nurturing.

"It is recommended specifically for the family that is going through hard times," he said.

Tickets cost $12 in advance and $15 the first day of the retreat and include meals. For more information, call 585-482-6444 or visit www.facebook.com/pages/Saulo-Hidalgo/104227046274730.
