Group elects advisory committee chair

ROCHESTER — NextGen Rochester, a giving circle for young professionals, has elected Saul Maneiro as the chair of the group’s advisory committee.

Maneiro, a program officer at the Rochester Area Community Foundation, is one of the founding members of NextGen, according to information from the foundation.

The goal of NextGen, which began in 2009, is to introduce philanthropy to young professionals to create positive change in the community. The group’s members pool their annual donations and award grants to nonprofit organizations.

Last month, NextGen awarded $9,000 to several area organization including the Center for Youth, the Mary Cariola Children’s Center, Mary’s Place and Young Audiences of Rochester.
