The Catholic Legal Immigration Network has received a $600,000 federal grant to expand citizenship programs serving immigrants in four cities.
The award from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ integration program funds organizations to provide legal and educational citizenship services in communities with limited or no resources. CLINIC will partner with Catholic Charities in Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Syracuse and Worcester, Mass., to prepare legal permanent residents for naturalization.
Through the partnership, the agencies will offer English as a second language citizenship classes and civic education programs. CLINIC staff will provide guidance and technical assistance to create and boost existing services that will increase the access of naturalization services.
