ROCHESTER — North East Area Development marked the reopening of the Freedom Market last month with a parade.
The store at 359 Webster Ave. has been expanded and remodeled to address health disparities, improve food access, provide workforce development and boost the sense of community in the area, according to information at http://neadrochester.org. Neighbors celebrated the grand opening Aug. 8 with a parade from the Freedom School on North Goodman Avenue to the store.
Market neighbors had also helped plan and complete the work for the renovation. The store will include fresh produce and bottled water.
