Foundation wants to boost kid’s exercise, nutrition

The Greater Rochester Health Foundation will distribute children’s tattoos in May as part of its "5, 2, 1, 0 Be a Healthy Hero" campaign to boost exercise and nutritious eating habits for kids ages 2 to 10.

The foundation will distribute the tattoos to children involved in physical activities in organized groups throughout the community during the week of May 2, which is being touted as "Healthy Hero Week," according to a press release. Some schools are planning to extend recess or hold dances, faith-based groups will host walks instead of a coffee hour with snacks, and neighborhood centers will involve parents in playground play.

Organizations or groups planning special activities during that week may request free, removable Healthy Hero tattoos by sending an e-mail to HealthyHeroTattoo@gmail.com with information about their activities and the number of children who will participate in the events.
