District establishes advisory committees

ROCHESTER — Rochester City School District officials recently announced the formation of four advisory committees to address key issues for the schools.

Van White, the new school board president, stated that the committees will address student achievement, parent engagement, student and community safety, and concentration of poverty. Committee members include community and business leaders, parents, university officials, and nonprofit directors, according to a district press release.

The committees are expected to provide recommendations for improvements in the key areas during a board presentation Feb. 28. An open forum to gather feedback will be held March 4.
