Borinquen Dance Theatre will present "Faces of El Caribe" at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Rochester Museum and Science Center, 657 East Ave., Rochester. The event will include live performances from the company’s junior, intermediate and senior members, with dances representing African, Taino Arawak Native and Spanish influences in a blend of Puerto Rican folkloric dance and Latin contemporary pieces.
Artistic director Nydia Padilla-Rodríguez, who founded the company in 1981, also has choreographed a dance to honor her mentor, Garth Fagan.
