ROCHESTER — City officials are seeking work sites for its Summer of Opportunity Program.
The program, sponsored by Rochester and RochesterWorks, is seeking community partners to serve as host sites next summer and provide structured, project-based positions for youths, according to a city press release.
Local businesses, nonprofit and faith-based organizations must apply to a request for application by Jan. 14. Applications will be evaluated on their creativity, demonstrated expertise in project themes, level of youth engagement, contributing partnerships and overall cost efficiency.
State and local funding is expected to cover compensation costs for participating youths. The program annually provides paid work experience for more than 700 youths, ages 14 to 20.
