Business program graduates 19

ROCHESTER — A group of local business professionals became the first graduating class of the city’s Eduardo Navarro Empresario Latino Business Development Training Seminars.

The program was designed to develop the management skills of Hispanic individuals interested in starting their own businesses in and around the city as well as businesses owners seeking to refresh their skills, particularly those who are using Spanish as their primary language, according to information from Daisy Rivera Algarín, economic development marketing specialist for the city. Officials hope the training will also improve economic self-sufficiency, provide jobs in distressed neighborhoods and boost economic opportunities for residents.

The city already has a waiting list for a planned spring session. For more information about the seminars, call 585-428-5990.

The graduates who received a certificate of completion on Oct. 25 during a ceremony at City Hall were: Maria Vargas, Nilly Ruiz, Luis Tejeda, Yesenia Cruz, Lucia María Torres, Alex Pichardo, Orlando Ortiz, Carl Ramkarran, Denishea Ortiz, Lissette Soto, José Valdor, Isael Díaz, Frank Cornier, María Bernard, Rosemarie Gutierrez, Milton Pichardo, Diana Estrella, Omar Medina and Maritza Hernández.
