Business leader to be honored

ROCHESTER — Sergio Esteban, chief executive officer for LaBella Associates, will be honored as the Rochester Hispanic Business Association’s Business Person of the Year during its annual luncheon next month.

The luncheon will be held Sept. 25 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The keynote speaker will be José María Cirujano, vice president of operations for Iberdrola USA.

Sergio epitomizes what the RHBA looks for in an honoree, as a respected business leader who is very involved in the community who has held a number of prominent leadership positions, stated Grace Tillinghast, the RHBA’s current president.

A native of Madrid, Spain, Esteban has lived in Rochester since 1978 and has served as president of the Rochester Hispanic Business Association, according to information from Tillinghast. Currently, he serves as chairman of the Rochester Riverside Convention Center and as a trustee of the Monroe Community College Foundation, Nazareth College and the Rochester Economic Development Corp. He is the incoming chairman of the Geva Theatre’s board of directors.

Esteban’s company also has overseen such high-profile projects as the redevelopment of the Midtown Plaza site, the Port of Rochester and High Falls/Brown’s Race.
