ROCHESTER — Ibero-American Action League is seeking nominations for its annual Alicia Torres Award.
The award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the development and well-being of all Latinos in Monroe County, according to information from Ibero. The agency created the award in memory of Torres, who often worked behind the scenes to support the growth of Latinos, including helping launch the Puerto Rican Festival in 1969.
This year’s honoree will be recognized during Ibero’s annual Anniversary and Recognition Awards Luncheon at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center on Oct. 6. For more information or to submit a nomination, e-mail iberoevents@iaal.org.
