ROCHESTER — Young Audiences of Rochester and ArtPeace have merged, and Lydia Boddie-Rice will be the nonprofit organization’s chief executive officer.
The merger will allow the arts education organization to expand its services to a greater variety of age groups and in more locations throughout the Rochester area, according to a press release. The organization will offer performances, workshops, teaching artists and professional development for teachers.
Boddie-Rice took on the new role last month after serving as a consultant for local nonprofit organizations for the past several years. Previously, she was manager of public affairs at Rochester Gas & Electric Corp. where she worked for 14 years. She also has served as a Rochester City School District board member.
Currently, she serves on the boards of Rochester Community Baseball and the Rochester Broadway Theatre League. She also founded and is managing director of Cross Currents Minority Rowing.
