2024 Puerto Rican Festival will have a new location

The Rochester Puerto Rican Festival has an alternate location this year.

The Puerto Rican Festival Inc. announced April 28 that the 2024 Puerto Rican Festival will take place Aug. 1-3 at Parcel 5, instead of the Innovative Field (formerly Frontier Field) VIP Parking Lot. This isn’t the first time the festival has been held at Parcel 5. After the festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the 2021 festival was located at Parcel 5, before returning to Innovative Field in 2022 and 2023.

“As the longest-standing ethnic festival in Monroe County, the Puerto Rican Festival board is deeply proud of the rich history and cultural significance this event holds within our community,” Orlando Ortiz, president of Puerto Rican Festival Inc., said in a press release. “We are honored to carry forward its enduring legacy and excited to unveil our new location in the heart of downtown, returning to the site of our 2021 festival. Our aim is to celebrate and share our vibrant culture through immersive experiences in food, music, and dance.”

The festival will take place from 5 to 11 p.m. Aug. 1 and 2 and noon to 11 p.m. Aug. 3. Admission is free Aug. 1 and from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 3. Daily admission tickets for Aug. 2 and 3 are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate, $5 for seniors and children, and free for children under 5.

This year’s musical headliners will be announced later this month.
