ROCHESTER — Two hundred Rochester City School District students completed their high-school requirements and took part in a graduation ceremony in August.
The ceremony was held Aug. 25 at the Hochstein Performance Hall. The number of students graduating in the summer has been increasing since 2007, according to district officials. Last year, the number totaled 146 students.
High-school seniors who don’t meet June graduation requirements are offered the chance to enroll in summer academic programs as part of the district’s goal to boost its low graduation rate and better prepare students for post-secondary education or work, officials stated.
