Youth Activist Movement

The Youth Activists Movement is a leadership program from February 16–April 4 offering youth ages 13-21 the opportunity to receive 35 hours of professional training in nonviolence, conflict transformation, and leadership development. The kick-off event, planned by the M.K. Gandhi Institute at the University of Rochester, was Feb. 16 at the One Favor Street Youth Center and is part of the “Season of Nonviolence,” the 64 calendar days between the memorial anniversary of the assassination of Mohandas K. Gandhi on January 30 and that of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4.
