Friends and community members participated in a rally and vigil Dec. 19 at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia to show support for Dolores Bustamante, who was to appear in immigration court that day. According to her supporters, Bustamante — a single mother and immigration-rights leader from Wayne County — was stopped by a state trooper for a minor traffic violation in 2014 and was turned over to immigration authorities.
