Rochester’s St. Monica Church invited the community to participate in “One Church, One Family: Catholic Public Witness for Immigrants” Nov. 13 as part of a nationwide show of support for refugees and immigrants. Father Raymond Fleming celebrated Mass, which was followed by a prayerful vigil outside the church. The date coincides with the feast day of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, the patroness of immigrants who was an Italian immigrant and the first U.S. citizen to become a saint.
