Father Jorge Ramírez celebrated La Noche de las Velitas (the Night of the Little Candles) Dec. 8 at Webster’s Holy Trinity Church. Candles were lit during the prayer service and were placed in sand at the base of a statue of Mary. A tradition of Colombia, the celebration takes place to celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
