Grant helps fund entrepreneur program

ROCHESTER — Ibero-American Action League has received a grant to help fund a new Entrepreneurial Assistance Program.

The program will assist and educate anyone who plans to start, expand or retain a small business, according to information from Ibero. The agency will assist with developing a business plan, offer business training and guidance through the state certification process, and provide technical assistance.

EAP specializes in helping low-income residents, minorities, women and veterans. The $134,000 grant from the federal Small Business Administration’s Program for Investment in Micro-entrepreneurs (PRIME) will assist Ibero in expanding those efforts.

A 60-hour training course on creating a business plan begins March 30 and will meet two days a week from 5:15 to 9 p.m.

For more information, call 585-256-8900, ext. 644, or send an e-mail to the program director at Carolina.Abarca@iaal.org.
