Obamacare enrollment assistance offered at Rochester libraries

ROCHESTER — Beginning this month, the Rochester Central Library and select branches around the city will offer residents one-on-one assistance in enrolling or renewing health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

Through the end of January, residents can apply for or renew coverage through New York state’s online Health Insurance Marketplace with assistance from HealthCare Navigators from LawNY, Fidelis Care, Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield and Coordinated Care Services Inc., according to information from city officials.

Navigators will provide assistance in multiple languages. Those looking for assistance in enrolling are asked to bring current income documents such as pay stubs for the past two months. No appointment is necessary.

Open enrollment for 2018 coverage began Nov. 1, 2017, and ends Jan. 31, 2018. Residents must enroll by Dec. 15 to ensure coverage by Jan. 1, 2018.
