A familiar face will return to Rochester’s St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish this summer.
Elizabeth Johnston, who previously worked in youth ministry at the parish, will serve as the faith-formation director beginning July 1, according to information from the parish. Johnston has worked the last four years as the intercultural program specialist for the Diocese of Rochester’s Cultural Diversity Office.
She will replace Martha Montes, who has overseen the parish’s religious education for nearly a decade. On July 9 the parish held a farewell celebration for Montes, who is retiring after 25 years working in religious education, according to information from St. Frances Xavier Cabrini’s copastor Father Mickey McGrath.
