ROCHESTER — Organizers of this year’s Santa Misión are focusing on the missionary aspect of the annual event to be held Aug. 10-12.
The theme is "It’s time to return to God," and the presenter will be José Juan Valdez, director of adult formation at St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Houston, Texas. It will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. each day at Holy Apostles Church, 530 Lyell Ave., Rochester.
Participants are asked to focus on certain objectives before, during and after the mission, according to information from Elizabeth Johnston, intercultural program specialist for the diocesan Office of Cultural Diversity. Those include: bearing witness to the faith, finding new partnerships and getting closer to those who have left the church.
