Hispanic young adults to celebrate saint with Mass, social

The Luz y Sal, a young-adult Hispanic ministry based out of Rochester’s St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, is celebrating the feast day of St. Josemaría Escrivá with a Mass and social.

The Mass will take place June 26 at 6:15 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 864 E. Main St., Rochester. The Mass will be followed by a social in the church hall. All are welcome to attend the Mass and social.

Born in Barbastro, Spain, St. Josemaría Escrivá was ordained a priest in 1925. In 1928, he founded Opus Dei, an organization of laypeople, priests and seminarians dedicated to the universal call to holiness. St. Josemaría Escrivá died in 1975 in Rome and was beatified in 1992. He was canonized in 2002.
