Rochester school recognized

Students and staff from Charles Carroll School No. 46 received the "Yes We Can" award from the Rochester City School District last month.

The school was recognized by the school board on April 27 for winning the Future City competition, which asked students to design a city that would be sustainable for the next 100 years, according to a district press release. During the four-month project, thirteen teams of middle-school students conducted research, generated ideas and built a scale model to portray Rochester of the future.

The final round of four teams included a written essay and a Feb. 28 presentation at City Hall.
