Rochester City School District seeks to fill vacant board seat

The Rochester City School District’s Board of Education has launched a search to fill a vacant seat due to the election of Malik Evans to the Rochester City Council.

Evans’ resignation is effective Dec. 31.

Applications for the position were accepted until Dec. 8. The board must approve the new member by a majority vote, according to information from district officials.

The new board member will serve until December 2018 and must run for re-election in the fall of next year as well.
