The Rochester City School District will return to in-person instruction five days a week beginning Sept. 8, 2021.
According to RCSD officials, the decision is based on new guidance issued by the New York State of Department of Health for in-person instruction from prekindergarten to grade 12. The updated guidance reduces the required number of feet for social distancing from six to three.
The district will continue to offer a complete remote learning option for families that do not feel comfortable sending their children back to school for in-person instruction. Families will have until May 7 to notify their children’s schools so they can receive remote learning accommodations from Sept. 8, 2021, through Jan. 28, 2022.
