According to statistics released by the New York State Education Department, the Rochester City School District has achieved its highest graduation rate in more than a decade.
The district’s graduation rate for June 2018 was 53.5 percent and 59.3 percent for August 2018, according to information from the district.
According to the district, there was a 3.4 percent increase in the graduation rate for Hispanic students, with 55 percent graduating in 2018 compared to the previous year. There also was a 1.9 percent increase in the graduation rate for English language learners, with 26.7 percent graduating in 2018 compared to 24.8 percent the previous year.
