After a two-year hiatus, young Latinas will be able to gather again in person for the “Soy Única! Soy Latina!” Rally.
Latina Unidas’ 18th-annual rally, which is for girls ages 7 to 18, will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 at Rochester Institute of Technology.
This year’s event, titled “La ARTista en Mi/The Artist in Me,”will focus on traditional and non-traditional forms of creative expression.
The madrina (godmother) for the event will be Nydia Padilla-Rodriguez, founder and artistic director of Borinquen Dance Theatre and a retired Rochester City School District administrator. The emcee for the event will be Annette Ramos, executive director of the Rochester Latino Theater Co. and executive administrator to the director of Monroe County Parks.
Due to RIT’s COVID-19 policy, all attendees 5 years old and up must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, proof of a COVID-19 PCR negative test taken within 72 hours of the event or proof of a COVID-19 antigen test taken on the day of the event.
