Nominations for 2023 Alicia Torres Award are due Sept. 20

Ibero-American Action League is seeking candidates for the 2023 Alicia Torres Award.

The award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the development and well-being of all Latinos in the City of Rochester. The award is presented annually in memory of Torres, who often worked behind the scenes to support the growth of Latinos. One of her accomplishments was helping to launch the Rochester Puerto Rican Festival in 1969.

This year’s honoree will be recognized during Ibero’s annual Anniversary and Recognition Awards Luncheon.

The deadline for submissions is Sept. 20. Nominations can be submitted online or by emailing iberoevents@iaal.org.
