The nonprofit organization Grupo Cultural Latinos En Rochester will host its second Carnaval show this fall.
The event, which is set for Oct. 2, will showcase the dance and traditions of the Latin American celebration known as Carnaval. It will take place at the Kodak Center in Greece from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The exhibition will feature various Latin American countries, such as Brazil, Panama, Colombia and Mexico, through folkloric dance performances accompanied by live music and intricate dresses. Additionally, each component will incorporate lessons about the history of carnivals as well as Latino culture and folklore.
Also during the event, Grupo Cultural Latinos En Rochester will present the work of various Latin artists from the Rochester area and visiting artists from Latin America.
