Saludos amigos, as I write this, the show "Dancing with the Stars" is coming to an end. This show has inspired a lot of people to go out and learn a few dancing moves. In this edition I will write about Latin dancing in Rochester.

Saludos amigos! We continue our look at the Rochester Latin music legacy, and in this issue we are going to take a look at a pair of brothers who have been involved in the Rochester Latin music scene since they were teenagers.

What is music? To many, it is a way of life. The Chinese philosopher Confucius recognized the importance of music in people’s lives, saying "Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without."

Saludos amigos, and welcome to our music as we continue our review of the many musical productions that have come out in the year 2010.

Saludos amigos! After a two-month vacation I’m back to the column to keep you up to date on what’s happening in the music scene here in Rochester and also on the national level. In this edition I will review some CDs that came out this summer that I hope you enjoy. All these productions can be found at your favorite record store or at the different Internet CD stores.

Saludos Amigos! The Rochester Puerto Rican Festival, in its 41st edition, brings international music acts to Rochester for everyone to enjoy. I will give you a little bit of history about the acts so when you get to the festival you are familiar with their music and also can make your choices as to which ones to see!

Saludos Amigos of El Mensajero! On May 8 Tango Café produced an unforgettable event celebrating Mother’s Day. In the elegant ballroom at Rochester's Memorial Art Gallery, hundreds of people attended to witness the performance of Puerto Rican salsero Michael Stuart. Stuart, with hits like "Niña Bella," "Amor A Primera Vista," "Princesa" and many others, is one of this generation’s salsa crooners who can really give you a performance.

On April 10, instead of attending one of the many events happening that night in Rochester, I decided to travel to Toronto, Canada, and catch one of the hottest salsa band that has come out of Cuba, David Calzado & Su Charanga Habanera.
