Candidates chosen for Rochester court, council, school board

The primary elections for Monroe County took place June 25. Winners will appear on the ballot for the November general election.

In the City of Rochester, there were Democratic primaries for Rochester City Council, the Rochester City School District Board of Education and Rochester City Court.

Twelve candidates vied to fill city council positions across the city’s four districts. The primary winners were:

East District: Mary Lupien

Northeast District: Michael Patterson

Northwest District: José Peo

South District: LaShay Harris

Ten candidates faced off for four open seats on the board of education. The primary winners were:

Beatriz LeBron

Ricardo Adams

Willa Powell

Amy Maloy

Six candidates contended for two City Court judge positions. The primary winners were:

Melissa L Barrett

Nicole Morris
