About El Mensajero: History & Mission
Just a few months after it was established in late 2005, El Mensajero Católico was named as one of North America’s finest Spanish-language Catholic publications. It remains top-ranked among newspapers of its class and has gone on to receive numerous awards for reporting, graphic design and photographic excellence.
El Mensajero’s community-based, in-depth coverage continues to emphasize such vital issues as immigration, health care, education, social justice and crime prevention. It also includes personality profiles, stunning photo spreads, and feature stories about cultural and religious celebrations.
Sports and movie reviews recently have been added, and music and food columns are coming soon.
El Mensajero Católico is the only firmly established, locally based publication serving the area’s growing Latino community. A non-profit enterprise, it is deeply committed to serving the information needs of the region’s Spanish-speaking population — both today and for many years to come.
El Mensajero is distributed FREE at more than 250 area retail locations, agencies and churches. Look for your copy at any of these fine organizatons!
